An accounting package for a few tens of euros a year raises a question. The answer is not exciting: we build and run BonDepot for our own books anyway. That set-up lets us work efficiently — and you see it back in the price.
The software is our own — there is no one else's package underneath it carrying a licence fee, and no row of intermediaries who all have to earn something on it. That is precisely the difference.
With many services you buy an accountant along with it, whether you want one or not. Not here: you keep the accountant or tax adviser you have known for years, so they are not part of this price. Better still — you invite them to your books and they look in with their own account, at no extra cost. You pay per set of books, not per user.
We build the tool; we leave the advice to the specialists. That is not a hedge but a boundary: ask the app something tax-related and it points you to your own adviser instead of making something up.
A free accounting package earns its money somewhere else — usually from its users' data. We do not. We sell nothing on, we do not measure your usage, and we build nothing on what is in your books: no model training, no “anonymised” figures for third parties, no insights sold to someone else. What we do use is what you tell us yourself: your questions and your reports. That is why BonDepot is cheap but not free — you pay for the service, and that is the entire business model.
30 days, every feature, no payment details. You choose at sign-up which plan you move on to — only then does an invoice follow.
