Your data

A set of books is about the most personal thing a business has. So here is exactly where yours is kept, who else can get to it, and what we do not do.

Hosted in the Netherlands. Your data never leaves the EU.

Your books sit on servers in the Netherlands, in an encrypted database of your own: you do not share a database with other BonDepot customers. Every set of books is a separate database file, so your data never sits alongside anyone else's. Reading your receipts and sending your invoices also happen inside the European Union: not a single document or piece of data leaves the EU. That is stated not only here, but also in our Data Processing Agreement.

Narrow AI, not a general chatbot

The data is extracted using narrow AI: a model that performs a single task — recognising data from a receipt or invoice. It is not a general-purpose AI that monitors your accounts or learns from them. This approach comes from Dex-IT, which focuses on narrow, explainable AI.

A European solution

The AI runs at a European provider on European infrastructure. No transfer to the United States, and no constructions with Standard Contractual Clauses that you simply have to trust.

We do not train on your data

Your documents are used to read them, and nothing else. No model training on your books, and what has been processed is not kept longer than necessary.

No tracking

No analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising cookies — not on this site either. Only what the app needs to work: your login session, your language choice, and when you were last active. We sell nothing on, and no advertiser is looking over your shoulder. The flip side is that we cannot see where you get stuck either; that is why we would rather ask you directly.

You stay the owner

Everything out, whenever you want

One button hands you your entire set of books as a zip: Excel and CSV files, all your original receipts by year, and your sales invoices with their attachments. No holding your own data hostage.

Gone is gone

If you want to stop, you delete your books yourself — with a cooling-off period, in case you change your mind. After that it really is gone, files included.

In black and white

What we do with your data is set out in the Data Processing Agreement and the Terms and Conditions. Both are public here — also before you become a customer. Found a security issue? Our responsible disclosure policy explains how to report it.
